Where are we?
In the province of Luang Prabang, Northern Laos.
We are situated in the beautiful village of Ban Sophoun just 5 minutes across the bridge from Nong Khiaw and 2.5 hours from Luang Prabang. Chan-a-Mar Resort is currently the home of the GreenHeart Foundation.
Getting Here
International Information
Bangkok is the nearest International airport with daily flights to and from Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang also has flights from Siem Reap, Cambodia (Angkor Wat) which is becoming an increaslingly popular route on whistle stop tours of Asia. Internally, Luang Prabang is connected with Vientiane, Xieng Khuang and Phongsaly.
From Luang Prabang
We can organise a comfortable door-to-door mini-bus (2.5 hours) or a spectacular scenic (5 hour) boat ride along the Mekong and Ou rivers from Luang Prabang. This can be combined with our day tour. Just relax and leave all the organising to us. Contact us for tailor made tours.
The Independent Alternative
The more independent traveller can travel by local bus (3 - 5 hours) or local boat (6 to 23 hours!) from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw.
Directions on arrival in Nong Khiaw
We are 5 minutes across the bridge from the Nong Khiaw boat landing and bus stop. Cross the bridge (you can't miss it), when you pass the toll gate, walk for approximately another 200 metres and turn right between two small shops. Walk for another 50 metres. You will see the GreenHeart Textile gallery on your left. This is the entrance to Chan-a-Mar. Ask for Chan or MarkO.
