Chan-a-Mar Resort (currently the home of The GreenHeart Foundation) is set amidst spectacular scenery in the traditional Northern Lao village of Ban Sophoun.
We offer you luxury bungalows, in a private setting, surrounded by breathtaking views of five mountains and two rivers. This combined with gourmet Lao cuisine, happy hour cocktails, quality informative local tours and an optional traditional Baci ceremony creates a 'real Lao' experience unmatched in Northern Laos.
Luxury Bungalows
Stay with us in our traditional and luxurious accommodation on the banks of 2 rivers surrounded by the five mountains along the majestic Ou river in a traditional Lao village!
Each bungalow has been individually designed, using local traditional building materials. Complete with luxurious beds, private bathroom with hot shower and a private balcony with amazing views.
A night in our bungalow, includes a Sunset Happy Hour, and a generous breakfast served in your room.

The Cuisine
We offer gourmet Lao food, prepared by the family here at the resort, using traditional methods and recipes.
All our food is prepared using filtered mineral water, for cleaning and cooking.
We can cater to any special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance. A recent guest stated it was consistently "the best vegetarian food they had tasted in Asia".

Baci Ceremony
For a special occasion, we can prepare a "Baci" ceremony for you. This is the oldest traditional Lao ceremony, giving blessings for health, prosperity or a special wish. It is hosted by our senior village shaman. Elders from the village play traditional Lao instruments throughout the evening. Special foods and drinks, prepared by the family, are provided after the ceremony.
