About Us

The GreenHeart Foundation is a humanitarian nonprofit organization devoted to Women’s Empowerment through the recognition and value of their intricate art forms and spreading awareness of women who weave. We focus on changing the lives of underprivileged young village girls in Asia who have the skills to continue these centuries-old traditions of creating handmade/heart-made natural dyed textile art.

For thousands of years, women have created the most unique and complex art forms in history. These textiles have little appreciation or value in generating sustainable livelihoods for the artisans of traditional cultures. We want to change this so  these women are respected, appreciated, and recognized as artists by creating awareness of their remarkable talents, which will uplift them and their communities.

Social Impact

Since 1987, the GreenHeart Foundation has been in continuous pursuit to address issues of poverty, gender inequality, sex trafficking, and unexploded bombs and promote creative expression through the Preservation, Perpetuation, and Promotion of culture and arts in Asia. From 2000-2010, The GreenHeart Foundation helped establish and promote cottage weaving industries along with Consortium and the Lao Women's Union through a USAID-funded Project in 6 Laotian villages benefiting over 533 weavers.
